Lancome released the new shade No.12 Chocolat Chaud of Le Crayon Khol a few months ago as part of its Parisian Fall 2015 Collection (info, photos) along with two more shades. This is a limited edition shade but I see there’s still available online on Lancome websites so can still get it if you decide you like it.
UK – Now @lancome.co.uk
Romania – Now at Sephora, Douglas
U.S. – Now @lancome-usa.com and Lancome counters
Lancome Chocolat Chaud Le Crayon Khol ($26.00 / £17.00 / 97.00 Lei for 1.8 g) is a warm toned medium hot chocolate shade with a matte finish. It has a good color payoff, very pigmented and glides effortlessly across the lid. I used it on the waterline as well and it looks just as beautiful.
It has a creamy-smooth formula that it is easily blendable if needed. It comes as a classic khol pencil so you’ll need a sharpener if you want to create a crisp line and have a pointed tip, otherwise you can create a smoldering effect that will surely be irresistible.
I would say this color is versatile, can be worn in every season, in a classic combination of eyeshadows but in my upcoming makeup tutorial I choose to wear it with Lancome Nuit Mordoree Hypnose Palette (review, swatches).
Lancome Chocolat Chaud shade was inspired by Caroline de Maigret parisian daily life and it’s meant to match to any effortless makeup.
You get quite a nice amount of product for your money as this crayon is very long and I wouldn’t see myself finishing it even in 2 years.
Consider me crazy but I did used it two times as a lip liner to line my lips and create a gradient color in combination with a light beige. Maybe I’ll re-do the look and post a couple of photos in the future.
