Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Stick in Foxy Amber – Review, Photos & Swatches

by Tavia

Hello beauties!

Today I’ll be reviewing Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Stick in Foxy Amber, a shade that’s been on my lips quite a few times in the past week. Even though we talked about the Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Sticks back in early spring I had the opportunity to test this product only recently thank to the Max Factor PR which sent me a couple of makeup items.

Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Stick in Foxy Amber (£6.99/ 30.00 Lei) is a light warm raspberry pink with just a hint of coral with a glossy finish. While most shades from this line are described as intense, Foxy Amber is leaning more towards the natural side but with a pop of color. It has a very light creamy formula which glides easily, smoothly and evenly across the lips delivering a natural shine. Foxy Amber delivers a semi opaque color coverage and will look more intense on those with a light, fair skin while on those with medium skin tone can look more natural.

It’s applied smoothly, without settling into lip lines and without being sticky. My lips felt soft and moisturized and even couple of hours later I didn’t felt them dry. This product is very easy to work with but is not a retractable pen so you will need a jumbo sharpener for it. I consider it to be more like a colorful lip balm which delivers a fair amount of color and keeps my lips moisturized and shiny for about 2-3 hours but when I’m having a decent meal I have to reapply the color.

I hope you enjoyed reading this review. Have you already purchased your own lip Giant Pen Stick this summer? There are some pretty pigmented shades of pink so I’m thinking of buying another shade pretty soon.

The colours looks gorgeous! And the formula sounds lovely too. You made me really curious to try it.

These pencils really deserve a test. I’m actually planning on buying one or two shades as I saw some pigmented pinks and read a couple of reviews. 🙂

OMG! I so need this 😀 After I saw these pencils needed sharpening, I gave them a miss, but this shade… <3

I was thinking the same Eli, as I never like to sharpen pencils but this one has such a nice and natural easy color, not to mention how easy is to apply. I like that is not sticky and it’s something between gloss, lip balm and lipstick 🙂
