Make Up Factory Eye Colors No.12 Eyeshadow Quad – Review, Photos & Swatches

by Tavia

Hi everyone!

I decided to start reviewing some of the eyeshadow quads, palettes, trios, duos and all that kind of stuff that I have in my drawers for a while and I’ve been postponing for so long.

I will start with Eye Colors No. 12 by Make Up Factory which is actually an Eyeshadow Quad with 4 shades. I bought this quad from a beauty shop a few months ago for the price of 16.0o Eur.

The Eye Colors Quad No. 12 is part of the Trend Colors Makeup Collection for summer 2010.

I really love nude shades and natural makeup for an everyday look so these colors seemed so appealing to me. The packaging also attracted my attention, not sophisticated but chic and classy. The quad has a transparent glass so you can see the colors and the rest is all shiny like a mirror.

Once you open it you’ll get to see those nude colors, a duo eyeshadow applicator and a small mirror.

The 4 colors are ideal for a nude natural makeup or you can use them for blending other intense colors. I specially like this quad because I love a more natural makeup for a day to day look.

All the 4 eyeshadows have a satin finish with metallic reflections and small shimmering particles. If you like matte eyeshadows for highlighting your brow bone these are not for you. They are sheer even when you applied them on top of an eyeshadow primer.

First I took swatches without using an eyeshadow primer starting from the left side with the 2 colors from the top and after continuing from the left side with the 2 colors from the bottom.

Swatches – without a primer

As I said they are very sheer but I like their discreet metal shimmering finish.

Now you can really see those metallic reflections.

Starting from the left:

  • a bronzy brown color with copper undertones which is the most intense color from the quad.
  • a golden champagne color with yellow undertones but very toned down. Doesn’t have so much shimmer and goes more towards a metallic finish.
  • a pink soft brown with metallic satin finish which has bronzy undertones.
  • the lightest color from the quad a very sheer silver color, with soft metallic finish and champagne undertones.

I know many girls are not into nudes but these are the colors that I usually like to use, they are simply and they easily blendable. They won’t crease or fall out, the application is very easy especially if you are using an eyeshadow brush. I honestly didn’t tested the duo applicator but it’s handy if you have the quad in your purse and you want to reapply more color and you also have the small mirror inside the quad.

I will soon do a makeup look inspired by the colors from this quad so keep your eye on Chicprofile future posts. 🙂

I hope this review was helpful for you girls. I would like to know what are your favorite eyeshadow colors, what do you usually use for a day makeup look and what are the colors that are more suitable for you.

Have you used Make Up Factory eyeshadows before? Let me know if you liked them.

Hi Sonia! I’m glad that you like these colors as much as I do. What colors do you usually use for a day by day makeup?

The difference is really huge…and I can’t understand how some girls still use eyeshadow without primer. 🙁

Pretty colors with the base, somehow in the pic the quad looks huge.

Hi Sherri! The quad has a normal size…comparing with Too Faced eyeshadow D shadows from their palettes these are much bigger. 🙂

Those colors look soooo much better with a primer. I like them, but it sounds like they’re a little too expensive for my taste.

Make Up Factory is medium brand if you are thinking about the prizes. I’m used with paying 7 Eur for a mono eyeshadow so the quad is really affordable for me. Depends how are the prices in your country. I only wish MUF was available here too 🙂

the colors are all very lovely, but I find them a little bit too sheer for my taste. TFSI makes a big difference though!

That looks lovely. Obviously an e/s primer is a necessity.

The colors are very pretty and wearable, perfect for everyday looks. I would have liked them more if they were more pigmented though.
