Lancome My French Noel Palette Review, Swatches, Photos

by Tavia

Hello beauties!

This holiday 2015 season one of the beauty items that got my attention is the new Sephora exclusive Lancome My French Noel Palette (official info, promo photos). It comes in a sleek, shiny black plastic compact which has painted on the lid a golden gate which is opening for the holidays and welcoming you inside to get your present. This all-in-one holiday palette hosts a combination of six eyeshadows of different finishes and lip colors so you can create the ultimate holiday look.

Lancome My French Noel Palette ($65.00 for 6 x 0.026 / 3 x 0.017) is a new and limited edition eye and lip palette hosting 6 eye shadows, 2 matte lip colors, 1 lip base and a dual ended brush.

I couldn’t help noticing the resemblance in packaging with YSL Couture Variation 10 Color Eye Palette (review, swatches, photos) which I also have so I was able to compare them up close. They are the same size, very sleek compact, elegant and quality revealing in the same time.

Inspired by Parisian elegance, My French Noel Palette is perfect for creating a complete holiday look. With six satiny eye shadows that make it easy to sweep on a perfect smoky eye and a hydrating lip base and two matte lip colors, this palettes lets you flawlessly transition from day to evening looks.

Lancome Beige Matte is a light champagne beige with a matte finish. It’s very close to my skin tone which makes it perfect for blending over the crease or on the brow bone. It has a very smooth silky texture, a good color payoff, applies and blends easily. I had over 8 hours wear with this formula.

Lancome Gold Shimmer is a light-medium yellow-gold with fine shimmer and a high metallic finish. It has an intense pigmentation with a smooth creamy formula that applies and blends easily without any fall out.

Lancome Copper Shimmer is a dark brown copper with yellow highlights and an intense satin-metallic finish. It has a very smooth, lightweight and creamy formula and a high color payoff which makes it look intense even when applied without a primer. It is very easy to work with, applies without fall out, adheres well onto the skin and shows no fall-out during the application. This is the most intense and rich pigmented shade from the entire palette. I had more than 8 hours wear without creasing.

Lancome Gray Pink Shimmer is a medium gray mauvy-pink with cool undertones and a high satin finish. It has the same intense color payoff with a soft, creamy formula which makes it easy to apply and blend. I had no fall-out during the application while the color wore well on me without creasing for more than 8 hours.

Lancome Mauve Pearl is a medium-dark mauvy-brown with cool undertones and a pearl finish. It has a rich color, adheres well onto the skin without an eyeshadow primer, blends with ease and shows no fall-out during the application. The formula is silky and smooth to the touch. I had over 8 hours wear with this color.

Lancome Deep Purple Metallic is a deep dark purple with pink shimmer, cool undertones and a metallic finish. This doesn’t look quite intense as the others, so even though it shows a good color payoff is not that rich and pigmented like the other shades. It is easily blendable while the formula feels soft and silky.

Lancome Cherry Red is medium orange red with warm undertones and a matte finish. It is a warm color, definitely suitable for wear on any occasion. I usually prefer cool toned reds but this one warms up my face, doesn’t look to harsh or intense.

Lancome Rich Burgundy is medium-dark burgundy red with cool undertones and a matte finish. It’s perfect for a classy and elegant red lip for those special nights during the holidays.

Lancome Lip Base is a nice addition to this palette, especially since the other to lip shades have a matte finish so a good lip base can help the color to stay in place longer and to hydrate and protect your lips.

I’m not very fond of creamy and powder products sitting together in the same palette but seeing the lip colors hosted separately from the eyeshadow and having that protective golden metallic lid, it surely makes me feel comfortable about this palette. On the mirror enclosed you will also find a small makeup tutorial for day and night that could be useful if you are having trouble and pairing the colors.

In the upcoming days I’ll be posting Day and Night makeup looks inspired by Lancome My French Noel Palette so keep checking my blog and Periscope Chanel (@Chicprofile) so you won’t miss them.

Yes I thought it was very similar to the YSL one too. I think I like that one better as well. But these are gorgeous colours.
