La Mer The Eye Balm Intense for Fall 2010 – Preview, Photos

by Tavia

Hi everyone!

A couple a weeks ago I posted about a new eye cream that is going to be launched this fall by La Mer. I’m talking about The Eye Balm Intense which I received a couple of days ago and will be available in department stores starting from October 2010.

There is always online shopping so for those of you who prefer this option you can find the product available @lamer.com for the price of $145.00 offering 15 ml (5.0z) of product.

Since my skin has the perfect relationship with La Mer products I wanted to try this new balm so badly but I couldn’t help it to make this short preview post. I will return with a review in a few weeks because I wanna take my time to notice the effects and results on my skin.

I know the price may be a big disadvantage for some of you but from my experience so far with La Mer’s products (and my eye cream from La Prairie) a little goes a long way and the results are amazing. Years ago I’ve used cheaper products but the results were not even closed with what the products that I’m currently using can offer.

For about 2 years I’m using an expensive eye cream and trust me that it last for about 5-6 months and I’m using it twice a day. I apply very little product and if it’s a good one it will keep your eye area moisturiezed for 10-12 hours a day. For me right now it’s very convenient to know that I can buy two high quality eye creams and they will last me the whole year instead of buying 5 or maybe 6 creams that seems cheaper but accumulated maybe the cost the same. I’m just saying this because previously I’ve used an eye cream from Clinique and within 2 months I had to buy a new one.

Anyway, I will see how long this new Eye Balm from La Mer is going to last but I’m hopping for amazing results.

The packaging is classy but elegant and I’ve always felt spoiled when I’ve got something from La Mer because they are thinking of all the small details which for others might not seem important.

Why the Eye Balm Intense is so special?

  • Is powered with a triple concentration of La Mer’s seaborne elixir, state-of-the-art Marine De-Puff Ferment and exclusive Lifting Ferment.
  • Immediately comforts skin with the cooling sensation of pure hydration.
  • Fine lines and wrinkles will be diminished.
  • Smooths out puffiness.
  • The eye area looks younger, smoother and clearer.

I’ve tried it last night and my first impression is WOW. It really feels so light and soft on the skin and even after I woke up my skin felt moisturized like it kept being hydrated while I was sleeping. 🙂

Its texture is very soft, not like a heavy cream, and that’s great because I don’t want to have any oil excess around my eye area after a few hours. It is fast absorbed by the skin.

The Eye Balm Intense comes in a small jar and the balm has a greenish gray color.  The smell is similar with algae extract but is not strong at all, you will sniff it only if you bring your nose very close to the jar. 🙂

The applicator is a new thing for me. I never used such an applicator to apply my cream but this one has also a special role. Is a cooling silver-tipped applicator which helps stimulate micro-circulation and also helps aid in de-puffing.

I’ve dipped the applicator in the cream and I’ve picked up enough product for each application. Being a silver-tipped applicator it is cold so it was a new sensation to feel the Miracle Broth working together with the cold sensation of the applicator on my skin.

I will let you know in a few weeks about my full experience with La Mer Intense Eye Balm. I’m hopping this preview post was helpful for you and if you have any questions about this product please let me know. 🙂

You’re tempting me with La Mer and after reading your last review I really want to try it. It’s too expensive 🙁 maybe one day.

Yes, indeed the price is a problem for so many….but if you could raise the money it will be worth it because it will last for 5-6 months and the results will be amazing I’m sure. It’s an addiction 🙂

I totally agree with you Tavia. I used a Clinique for one month and I didnt see any results…just grease….I think some creams are an investment…now Im using lancome and previously I was using estee lauder and they both worked well…Im looking forward to see more about la mer and give it a try…!! tks!!

I’ve used Clinique All About Eyes…but except of hydration I haven’t noticed anything else. It cost me around $ 30.00 and lasted max 2 months so I’d rather invest in a good cream that will last 3 times more and I’ll get to see some results.

Ugh I think you’re right on this one, Tavia. I always hope for a cheaper alternative because, let’s face it, La Mer’s pretty damn expensive.

Hi Sonia, was it ALl about Eyes or the Serum? I’m currently using the Depuffing serum and it’s doing nothing for my under eye circles.

I wanted this before and now you are making me want it even more. I really like the Concentrate and I have a feeling I’d like this better.

I never tried their concentrate but I think the texture is a lil bit different, this one is lighter and I like it so far since my skin is oily and I don’t like to use heavy creams. Lotions, Balms and Serums are the best for me. 🙂

This sounds wonderful. I would love to try La Mer products but I’m afraid they are too expensive for me at the moment.
