Kinetics Blameless nail polish from the Change It Up! Spring 2010 Collection – Review, Photos, Swatches

by Tavia

Change It Up! Spring 2010 Collection by Kinetics contains 7 new shades for spring and one matte top coat. Blameless nail polish is one of the colors included in this new collection.

It’s a nude color, a light peachy shade, very sheer on the nails. If you are looking for something natural this might be your shade and it looks great on french manicures.

I like to wear pale and nude colors sometimes but this shade is just to sheer for me, seems like I almost have no nail polish at all, especially if you are looking from distance.

This nude peachy color is shiny even without a top coat. The texture is a creamy fluid combination that glides easily on the nails but because of the brush I had some problems with the application.

I took a few photos just to show you how this brush looks like, I’m sure that it was a mistake from fabrication but it’s just impossible to work with it. I had to cut those hairs and after try to apply the color.

Look closely at the brush

Kinetics really has some great nail polishes, the price is excellent but they just don’t have the best brushes. In my opinion brushes are really important when you layer your nail polish because they can affect the application, the final result and they can leave lines behind.

Not the best brush ever 🙁

After I cut the brush just a little bit I was able to apply the nail polish but I can’t say that was a smooth application.

I’ve applied 2 layers of Blameless nail polish and one layer of top coat for the final result. Even if you try applying more layers the color would still be pale and sheer with a natural  transparent look.

Blameless nail polish – 2 coats + 1 layer of top coat

Considering that Matte One Night Top Coat is also part of this collection I  apply one layer on my left hand nails. I’ve tried this mattyfing top coat on every nail polish from this collection and if you read my other reviews you can see it does a really great job. It really makes the color last longer and prevents it from chipping. It mattifyes the color giving it a soft matte look and it also brightens up a little bit those darker nail polish colors. Here is the result.

Blameless Nail Polish 5 days later

Now let’s take a look and see the results after 5 days of wearing Blameless nail polish. At first let’s start with the nails where I’ve applied a shiny top coat.

Blameless nail polish + top coat after 5 days

As you can see the polish is chipped towards the ends but the good thing about this color is that you can’t notice that easy those chipped ends because it’s close to my skin tone. The color is still shiny and the result it OK considering these are my natural nails and I don’t protect them so much.

Now let’s see the other nails where I’ve applied Matte One Night top coat.

The result on these nails is much better comparing with the other nails where I’ve applied a simply top coat. I must admit the Matte One Night top coat has a great effect on every nail polish. It preserves the color, almost no chip ends and gives this soft matte effect.

I hope you find this review helpful. Please your opinion with us and let me know if you are into this type of natural colors. 🙂

You have very pretty nails. This is a nice color, but I usually don’t wear nudes on my fingers. I should try it out sometime. It goes well with your skintone, even if it doesn’t look all that obvious. I love the matte effect

Hi and thank you! 🙂 I’m wearing nudes sometimes but this color is too sheer even for me. It makes me feel like I’m not wearing any nail polish at all. I also like the matte effect that this top coat gives. Have you seen my other reviews from Kinetics where I’ve tested this top coat? 😛

That brush looks really bad! I hope it was a manufacturing problem and that not all their brushes are like that. As for the color, it’s pretty but I’m not a fan of such nude, sheer shades.

Hi Gio! Indeed this brush was a manufacturing error. I have their entire spring collection and only this polish has the brush like this, but still it’s not nice. I’ve already talked with my contact from their PR department and showed them this photo. They will improve their brushes, hopefully. 🙂
