I received Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Bois de Rose a couple of months ago at an event hosted by BeautyBarometer. Along with this shade I got some other Estee Lauder goodies in deluxe sample sizes, like the Resilience Lift face/ neck and eye creams that I begin to use only a couple of nights ago. I begin wearing Bois de Rose last week and since I know it’s a popular shade, especially on E-bay I want to share with you my review.
Now at Nordstrom, Sephora, Douglas and online @esteelauder.com
Estee Lauder Bois de Rose Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick ($26.00 for .13 oz) is a burnt medium-dark rosy beige with satin-lustrous finish. It has a light creamy formula that applies easily and evenly across the lip, giving an intense color in just one swipe. The formula feels so lightweight on the lips, making them soft and giving them that nice natural shine.
Bois de Rose is an everyday color, perfect for a casual, nude look even on those with light skin tones like me. It doesn’t look to harsh since we are talking about a shade that has medium to full coverage. You should know that if you have a lighter complexion it would be best to keep the color as a medium coverage, one swipe should deliver the perfect amount of color, while if you are looking for a more intense and darker shade you can easily build up the color.
Lips feel soft and smooth, hydrated and creamy while the color shows a natural brilliance. The reason for creamy smooth lips is the formula enriched with lip-loving ingredients such as apricot kernel, shea butter and murumuru butter. It doesn’t settle into lip lines.
The color started to wore away after 4 hours and then I knew I needed to reapply Bois de Rose for a fresh vibrant shade. It’s the kind of color that warms up the face and it’s perfect for every skin color.
