Clinique #09 Happy A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skin – Review, Swatches & Long Lasting Test

by Tavia

Hello beauties!

Last week I received some new products from Clinique (preview & photos) and among them two colors of the new Clinique A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skin (official info & photos). The first nail enamel I tried was #09 Happy a beautiful summery shades which is part of the permanent line. The name actually says it all as this color is so vibrant and puts you in a good mood only by looking at your nails.

Clinique #09 Happy Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skin ($16.00/ £12.00/ 75.00 Lei for 9 ml/ 0.3 fl oz) is a bright and vibrant coral red with a creamy texture. The consistency is well balanced, very creamy and just a little bit on the thicker side. The color is opaque right from the first coat but the brush leaves a few lines behind so you’ll need to apply a second coat to even those lines out. It has a gorgeous opaque color and a glossy finish which can be amplified with a thin coat of your favorite top coat. I decided to use Jordana Garlic Growth Base Coat and for the finishing touches I applied Jordana Yellow Out Top Coat only of five of my nails so I can compare the results a few days later.

The application went well without bubbling, streaking or pooling along the edges of the nail. Today on the fourth day I removed the Happy color from my nails even though it was still looking bright, pigmented and shiny. On the nails where I have applied top coat I had no top wear and still a glossy finish. On the other five nails where I haven’t applied top coat I had no chipped polish, only very minor tip wear and the same opaque and pigmented color. The only downsize I can think of is the price, which puts this nail enamel on the expensive side considering it has almost double the price of an usual nail polish and only so little product inside.
