Chanel Mat Lumiere Long Lasting Luminous Matte Fluid Makeup SPF 15 Review, Swatches, Photos

Hello cuties!

Receive about two weeks ago, Chanel Mat Lumiere Luminous Matte Foundation was one that I’ve been meaning to try for a long time. Its actual name is Chanel Mat Lumiere Long Lasting Luminous Matte Fluid Makeup SPF 15, which I have to admit is kind of a long one but at the same time is a very explicit name, one that it kind of says it all, hardly needing a description. So it’s obvious that we are talking about a matte finish foundation with a long lasting formula, but since it also mentions “luminous” among other words, I was convinced I’m going to see more than just a flat matte finish result.

International – Now Sephora, Douglas and other Chanel Counters and online @davidjones.com

Chanel Mat Lumiere Long Lasting Luminous Matte Foundation SPF 15 ($74.00 for 30 ml / 1 fl oz) in No.20 Clair is the right shade for me as a light skin toned. I have a combination skin type and this foundation has just the perfect formula for me. It has an oil-free formula and delivers a soft, yet natural and luminous matte finish. It has a medium coverage with a natural finish. It does cover blemishes, redness, evens out your skin tone and it’s slightly buildable if you are trying to conceal any other skin problems but without hiding them completely. I usually prefer a light coverage foundation but I do really like this one as it has such a light consistency but without being very thin or liquidy.

It comes in a rectangular matte glass bottle with a black cap and a pump and for me actually two pumps are enough for one application. I like to use my fingers to apply the product and I really like how it behaves, gliding effortlessly and easily across the skin. I also used a beauty blender once, but I noticed this gives me more of a lighter coverage and airbrushed finish.

For those who have a combination or oily skin type with a tendency to shine, this has one of the best formulas that is oil-free and delivers maximum staying power. It keeps my complexion shine-free for at least 8 hours if I’m not using any finishing loose powder. If I do apply a thin layer of loose powder I have matte finish for the entire day.

It looks quite natural on me, without giving the impression that I have a mask on. It feels very lightweight and comfortable on the skin. I absolutely love that even though it has a matte finish, it doesn’t look powdery. Being a luminous matte finish it makes it a bit special for me, as it gives my complexion a radiant look. It’s not that flat and boring matte finish, that most foundations meant for combination and oily skin types have, so this one combines perfectly both features, a matte complexion with a luminous, radiant look.

It has a price which goes on the expensive side but you have to keep in mind we are talking about Chanel here and this one is surely a product that it’s worth giving a try.
