YSL Black Opium Eau de Toilette

by Tavia

Hello lovelies!

The addiction continues as Yves Saint Laurent is tempting me yet again with the new Black Opium Eau de Toilette which will be launching at the end of summer. I was mesmerized right from the start by YSL Black Opium Eau de Parfum (review, photos) released earlier this year so now I really feel I can wait no more until the new Black Opium version hits counters.

On the promo picture we see once again the British model Edie Campbell as the face of the Black Opium Eau de Toilette campaign.

International Launch Date – 24 August 2015 at Sephora, Douglas

Japan Launch Date – 4 September 2015

YSL Black Opium EDT is presented in the same bottle shape but with pink and golden coating with the same key notes, the only difference is deeper accents of the green character of coffee. This sounds like a new temptation already and I have just the feeling that I would love to sense it on my skin during this summer but I guess I’ll just have to wait until Autumn to sniff it.

YSL Black Opium will be sold as 30 ml/ 1.0 fl oz, 50 ml/ 1.7 fl oz and 100 ml/ 3.4 fl oz EDT.

Fragrance notes:

  • Top Notes: Black Currant, Pear, Green Mandarin Bark, Citruses

  • Base Notes: Blond Wood, White Musk

I really love this one. The richness of the coffee, the sweetness of the blackcurrant, the woods and orange blossom, I love it all. I had tried a sample once and that was all it took. This smells so deep and heady to me, but with some fruitiness to keep it from being too overwhelming. I equate it to a dark room with the curtains drawn, except for a small portion pulled back so that a crack of light can come through.
