Orly Saturated Nail Polish – Review, Swatches & Long-Lasting Test

by Tavia

Hello beauties!

As you well know last week I showed you swatches of Orly Baked Summer 2014 Collection that has been announced a few weeks ago. In case you have missed the previous articles you can check out here the promo images. My passion for dark nail polishes is well known along with intense pinks and as you already noticed from the swatch article I picked up only 3 shades from this collection.

Orly Saturated was the first polish I wanted to coat my nails with and soon Orly Neon Heat will follow. Orly Baked Summer 2014 Collection features 6 nail polishes in bright and vibrant shades with a new finish.

Orly Saturated nail polish ($8.50/ 45.00 Lei for 18 ml/ .6 fl oz) is medium dark purple with a natural sheen something between a semi matte finish and a slight sheen. I can say it’s truly a saturated neon color with a satin finish. I took an awful lot of photos to show you Saturated true color but it’s one of those purples that is hard to photograph. I tried natural light, studio light and warm light but none of these could really emphasize the beauty and intensity of this color. I know it looks like a deep blue but I’m telling you that you have to swatch and see how this color really looks on the nails.

The consistency is very light almost watery but it glides amazingly well on the nails without streaking, bubbling or pooling along the edges of the nail. The name of this color, Saturated says it all, it’s truly an intense, rich and deep pigmented shade. Two coats are enough to get that smooth satin finish and opaque color. If you prefer a glossy finish you can add a layer of top coat as I did on my left hand nails by applying Orly 3-in-1 Top Coat. As a base coat I used Orly Rubberized Lacquer Gripping Base coat on all of my nails.

Overall this polish applies nicely, without any problems, delivering an intense rich neon purple with a soft satin finish. The drying time is amazing, under 5 minutes and the color is suitable to be wore on every nail size.

I enjoyed wearing Orly Saturated every minuted of the 5 days and as always I took before and after photos so you can see if this polish is also long lasting. Considering it’s a summer shade and a deep neon it did wore well for 3 days but in the fifth day I had visible tip wear and the polish chipped on some of the nails where I’ve applied top coat. Without a top coat the color looks more mattifyed and chipped visibly but the color is still pigmented and intense.
