Hello beauties!

Max Factor Excess Volume Extreme Impact in Black (€13.95/ 49.00 Lei/ £9.99 for 20 ml) is a an ultra black intense color with a luscious finish after one coat of dark lacquer.

This mascara can be applied in two steps and it’s totally up to you if you want to follow them or decide that you want to stop right after the first step.

The No.1 Extreme Volume brush acts as a volumising base meant to transform your natural lashes into excessive thick lashes. It’s true that I noticed it makes my lashes longer, well defined, darker and it even curls them but I can’t say it adds an excessive volume and makes them look thicker and fuller. I have rare lashes so I believe this step will have a high impact on those with natural thick lashes. I even added a second coat and you can see in the photo bellow how well separated they are, without clumping and looking like spider lashes.

The brush has small plastic bristles and it’s very easy to work with, facilitating the application but I know this kind of brush is not everyone’s favorite. The smell of this one and also of the Dark Lacquer is absolutely terrible for me, it’s smells very artificial and those who are sensitive about the smell they might have a problem with this product.

The No.2 Dark Lacquer step intensifies the color, seals the volume and ads a polished black finish. After this step I noticed my lashes looking a bit thicker, darker and more curled. What you should know when you start to apply this mascara is the fact that if you decide applying it in 2 steps you should do each eye at the time, because the product dries very fast so once you will start applying the Dark Lacquer the lashes will be already dry and this mascara will clump the lashes just a bit.

I notice it’s so much better to apply the first coat of Extreme Volume and then right away come back with the Dark Lacquer.

It lasts beautifully on the lashes for about 6 hours but after that the color is diminished and doesn’t look so intense and glossy. After 8 hours wear lashes are longer, curled but the volume is considerably diminished and they don’t look so thick and full.

I’ve seen this product performing really great on those with thicker lashes but on me I couldn’t say it does a big difference regarding the amount of volume it’s suppose to reveal.

When it comes to removing this mascara is a real pain and a simple facial wipe or a cleansing milk won’t do the job. You have to choose a biphasic makeup remover, waterproof eye remover  and I personally use Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover which is absolutely amazing everytime I have to deal with waterproof formulas, eyeliners or mascaras. This product really sticks to your eye lashes, even better than a waterproof mascara so you really have to work to remove it without loosing any lashes.

The packaging is a downsize for me, being so big and chubby, not at all stylish, sleek and elegant.

im not sure if this can be a review or not but i am so angry and furious with the product! first time i used it, i will admit, it was great! now 2nd and 3rd time round this mascara has ruined my lashes! it will not come off!! i will use baby oil, makeup removers and im stucj for 5 mins trying to get it off, even to the point where some lashes have been pulled.out and now, going from full lashes, i have thin lashs that look horrible! i am so angry at this product! so expensive and so bad!!!!!

It’s true that it’s a bit hard to take it off and as I mentioned I like to use Clinique Take the Day Off makeup remover for lids, lashes & lips and I have to say it does a great job removing this mascara. I also used Lancome bi-phasic makeup remover and it also worked well.
