Max Factor Colour Effect Summer 2010 Collection – Max Effect Dip-in Eye Shadow in Posh Pink – Review, Photos, Swatches

by Tavia

Max Factor Colour Effect is one of the most bold makeup collections for summer 2010. We can see flashes of new colors for the eye makeup and everyone can find their favorite colors in this vivid bright collection.

I have received a few products from Max Colour Effect collection in order to review on my blog and I couldn’t be happier because they are all in pink shades and soft browns. I already reviewed Mini Nail Polish in Diva Pink a few days ago and today I wanna show you a couple of their eye shadows.

So I’ve got Max Effect Dip-in Eye Shadow in Posh Pink 03 shade, which is one of the 8 colors available in this collection. The product is already available for sale for a price of  £ 5.99.

Posh Pink is loose eye shadow powder in a beautiful light pink shade with gold shimmering finish. It comes in a small pink bottle (each bottle is colored accordingly to the shade inside) with an applicator with a very long “tail”. 🙂

You must shake the little bottle before you open it and start applying the color. For a better application I recommend using an eyeshadow primer first, because is more like an eye shadow powder with fine particles and it will look very sheer and won’t last that long otherwise.

The sponge-tipped applicator gives a precise application and delivers a beautiful color with high pearl effects. It’s easily blendable, and if you gonna use a blending brush you will get a sheer color with pearl pink and gold shimmer effects. I actually prefer using the small sponge-applicator and apply it on my upper lid instead of eye liner.

This is a nice shade for a natural look or a summer makeup but if you want something more bright and vibrant this is not for you.

I also used this shade on top of other colors but it doesn’t last, fades away pretty quickly and because it’s actually a powder eye shadow it’s more like to be blended into other colors then making a difference on it’s own.

I love pink shades and I even used this one in a few makeup looks (I’ll post them as soon as I will finish reviewing 2 more products from this collection) so if you really love pink you can try this shade.

I hope you find this review helpful, let me know if you have any questions. Also let me know if you bought something from this collection. 🙂

I’ve had a hard time using those kinds of sponge-tip applicators. Do you have any tips to make it easier?

Thank you for review, I would love to try these shadows. And I am sure this colour looks great on you (is it the one you used for “La Mer” look that I loved?)

Hi Marina! Well yeah…it actually is 🙂 I’m happy that you noticed that :). I will post the entire look pretty soon, I just wanna finish reviewing a few more products. I’m lazy when it comes to reviews, as always. 🙂

That’s a pretty shade but I hate this kind of applicator, it’s so hard to use!

Hi Gio! I didn’t had any problem with the applicator, I kind of find it easy to use it. 🙂
