MAC Lustre Lipstick Lazy Day from To The Beach Summer 2010 Collection – Review, Photos, Lip Swatches

by Tavia

I guess you are all familiar with MAC To The Beach summer 2010 collection and I know many of you liked the eyeshadow colors and eye pencils but I was not so crazy about this collection.

I bought a lipstick, lip gloss and a lip pencil because they were pink and I really wanted to try them. I also got the Lustre Drops and Bronzy Body oil that I hope to use after I will get some tan. 🙂 After using the lipstick 2-3 times I thought it’s time for a review.

I’ve bought MAC Lustre Lipstick in Lazy Day and I paid 18.00 Eur but I guess in U.S. the price is $14.00. Huge difference I would say, and that shows why in Europe MAC doesn’t have so much fans like in U.S.. I would probably be a fan too if the prices were not so high.

I know everyone was so excited about the packaging and I must say, it’s really summer inspired but I’m not crazy about the orange color. 🙂

Wearing MAC Lazy Day Lustre Lipstick – lip swatch

The color is pretty sweet if you are into pinks, but looks more like a cool pink tone with just a touch of shine. It’s very creamy and pigmented so I like this part.

MAC Lazy Day  – swatch

Has a milky creamy texture that makes your lips feel very soft and moisturized. The one thing I don’t like is that it tends to accentuate the lines on your lips and when I apply it, I always see the signs of small lines left behind  so I decided to apply a lip gloss on top.

The color is very nice but this extra milky texture is not that great when it comes to hot temperatures. I took it in my purse a couple of times and because it was very hot outside, when I want it to reapply Lazy Day I noticed the lipstick was too soft, almost like melting inside the tube so I had to put it in the refrigerator once I got home. 🙂

I also notice it doesn’t last on the lips too long, for me were 2 hours max.

I would have expected to get more product for this money so I’m not happy with the 3 g of lipstick. I don’t use lipsticks (I’m a sucker for lip glosses) but if I would use Lazy Day like I use lip glosses than it wouldn’t last me a month.

Lucky me that I got the Lip Glass from the same collection and has almost the same color of pink. 🙂

Don’t be to harsh on me because I was not impressed by this lipstick, I know many of you loved this summer collection, but I guess I can’t be bought that easy, especially when in Europe the prices are so high when it comes to MAC.

I’m curious to know what lip products did you bought from To The Beach collection and how are they working for you. 🙂

I didn’t buy anything from the collection but Lazy Days would have been mine if I didn’t have so many new MAC lipsticks.

I didn’t get anything from this collection because most of the shades looked easily dupable and the prices are too high here in Europe. That is a beautiful shade, looks great on you. It’s too bad it accentuate lines and doesn’t last too long though.

Well that’s what I said…the price difference between U.S. and Europe when it comes to MAC it’s huge. If I would be living in U.S. I would probably buy lots of MAC products too but here things are different. 🙂

And in the US you have the CCO, we don’t have that either in Belgium

Well unfortunately I don’t live in U.S. and not even in one of those European countries where they have MAC and other great brands.

I haven’t gotten anything from MAC in such a long time. So weird. 😀 I like their collections, but this hype that follows each collections is just too much for my taste and that really annoys me so I’m boycotting MAC for some time, lol. 😀

This lipstick looks really nice on your lips, sorry you didn’t get the right quality and value comparing to its price. :/ That’s why I don’t buy mid-end and high-end cosmetics in Europe – not worth paying that price. And not like I expect who know what from some products, but I’d rather get it cheaper because then I won’t be sorry that I spent my money on it. 🙂

I’ve noticed that MAC has a huge number of fans in U.S. …there everyone is crazy about MAC and usually they are buying makeup all time. If they had the same prices like we do…I’m sure they would chill. I’ve tried some of the MAC products, some I like some I don’t like but still not enough to be crazy about this brand. 🙂
