Guerlain Gold’n Eyes Ecrin 1 Couleur Review, Swatches, Photos

by Tavia

Hello pretties!

Guerlain No.06 Gold’n Eyes Ecrin 1 Couleur is one of the 12 new Guerlain Mono Eyeshadows launched this spring. I love a sparkling gold eyeshadow with a metallic finish so here’s my review of Guerlain Gold’n Eyes Ecrin 1 Couleur. I recently did a Guerlain spring makeup look using this shade along with two other new mono eyeshadows from the same Guerlain Spring 2015 Ecrin 1 Couleur Line (info, photos) and I will be posting it afterwards in a new article.

Guerlain Gold’n Eyes Ecrin 1 Couleur (165.00 Lei / $34.00 / £21.15 for 2 g) is a light warm gold with a touch of yellow bronze to it and a metallic finish. Swatched on bare skin the color has a sheer to light medium coverage while applied over an eyeshadow primer (I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eyeshadow Primer) the color looks more intense, showing a richer metallic finish and a medium color coverage.

The formula is a bit chunky, not at all soft or silky to the touch, but it applies well and adheres well onto the lid. It doesn’t have any fall-out and it’s easily blendable. I like the luminous gold shade of Guerlain Gold’n Eyes mono eyesahdow but you should know this is more like a light to medium kind of gold, the one that is not right into your face and can be used for more soft and elegant makeup looks rather than those where you want a totally deep pigmented gold that will pop up revealing a rich metallic finish.

I used it in several makeup look just on the inner corner of my eyes for luminosity and sometimes on the middle of the lid for a soft pop of gold color. This shade had the strangest formula from all of the new Guerlain Ecrin 1 Couleur metallic shades and even though it was easy to work with the texture felt a little bit scratchy to the touch.

I had 8 hours wear with this formula before the color started to fade and after 10 hours it remained a like a light gold with a sheer color coverage. I had no creasing or fall out.

Enjoy more photos…
