Clinique Color Surge Eyeshadow Soft Shimmer – Review, Photos, Swatches

by Tavia

Hi everyone!

Today I’m gonna do a fast review about Clinique Color Surge Eyeshadow Soft Shimmer. It’s a mono eyeshadow that I’ve been using for quite a while now. I’ve got the 06 Frosted Blossom shade which is a beautiful pale pink, with soft shimmer finish.

This mono eyeshadow is available @Clinique.com for the price of $14.00.

It’s really a nice color for summer and if you love pink eyeshadows you should give this one a try.

This color maybe considered very pale by some of you but you can use it as a highlighter (I’m totally into pinks highlighters)  and apply it on your brow bone.  I’ve always apply my eyeshadow after using an eyeshadow primer so I would recommend you to do the same (is there anyone who doesn’t?). It doesn’t crease, has a long-lasting power and powder formula. It is also easy blendable.

If you decide to wear it without a base, it won’t be that pigmented and will fade away pretty fast.

I’ve used this color in some of my FOTD that I will post in the future, so there you will be able to see how it really looks like combined with other colors.

I found the applicator useless, I mean I like to apply my eyeshadow with a brush and not with a sponge applicator so I didn’t even bother to use it.

Here are the swatches:

  • Left: without a primer
  • Right: using Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance Primer

I hope this fast review was helpful for you. I really love pink eyeshadows and I hope you will like this one too. 🙂

I *always* use eyeshadow primer, no matter which eyeshadows I use. 🙂 I like how this color looks like, and I have one Clinique duo eyeshadow, but haven’t really tested it properly 😀

I agree about the packaging. That green is so tiring and cheap looking.

My bad girls…I forgot to say this is not the original packaging (this is only the packaging they use for testers). The original packaging is silver and very classy. 🙂

😀 Even if the make up packaging is classy, their packaging for their skincare products is tacky.I like the products, but the packaging is so boring and sometimes even ugly.

I love Clinique but there is something wrong with this, the packaging is big and bulky and the finish looks chalky. Maybe there’s a hidden compartment.
