Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette Review, Swatches, Photos

by Tavia

Hello sweeties!

The news that Urban Decay has finally arrived in Romania has been circling beauty blogs since last December so back in January when the products hit counters at Sephora, it was a dream come true. I’ve Periscoped about the event and showed you how everything went that night but today I want to give you a full review of the Naked 3 Palette because some of you asked me for more details.

Where to buy:

U.S. & International – Now online @urbandecay.com, Sephora

Romania – Now exclusively at Sephora in Vitan, Baneasa, Promenada, Feeria, Afi Palace Cotroceni, Magheru

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette ($54.00 / 229.00 Lei for 0.60 oz) contains 12 rose-hued neutrals shade and it’s by far my favorite from all the UD Naked series. I also got the full size Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion (10 ml / 0.33 fl oz) along with the palette and I’m so thrilled about it as I had the travel size one and I’ve been using it for months. 🙂

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette also includes sample sizes of the four eyeshadow primers in Original, Eden, Sin and Anti-Aging so you can test them and see which one you like the most for future usage.

I personally like all the nuances but I have a few things to comment regarding the quality of the eyeshadows. In my opinion the palette is close to perfection, the only mention I have is regarding 3 eyeshadow colors in Dust, Limit and Nooner.

Urban Decay Strange Eyeshadow is officially described as a pale neutral pink matte-satin. It’s a very light, close to my skin tone, neutral white-pink with warm undertones and a soft satin matte finish. The texture is very smooth and soft, applied and adhered well onto the skin and it’s ideal for blending with other colors in the crease. It had a decent color payoff but as I said it looked very similar to my skin color.

Urban Decay Dust Eyeshadow is officially a pale metallic pink shimmer with iridescent micro-glitter. I see it as a light pink with warm undertones and very fine gold glitter. I was really disappointed when I swatch this one, really trying to build up the color as it has a powdery and glittery texture. It has fall out during the application though it applies smoothly. It’s a gorgeous color but without the eyeshadow primer it won’t get you far.

Urban Decay Burnout Eyeshadow is described as a light pinky-peach satin. It is a medium pink peach with pearl finish. It’s a really nice color with a high pigmentation, very soft and smooth texture. It applies well, without fall out and adheres well onto the skin.

Urban Decay Limit Eyeshadow is officially described as light dusty rose matte. It’s a medium neutral pink with cool undertones and matte finish. It has a light pigmentation, soft, blendable texture and adheres well onto the skin without any fall out. I like to use this shade whenever I’m going for a natural nude makeup look or as a transition color, easily blendable over darker shades.

Urban Decay Buzz Eyeshadow is officially a metallic rose shimmer with silver micro-glitter. I see it as a coppery-rose with warm undertones and high frosted metallic finish. It has a great color payoff with a buttery soft texture that applies well onto the skin. It’s easily blendable but I did distinguish some fall out during the application when I didn’t use the primer.

Urban Decay Trick Eyeshadow is described officially as a light metallic pinky-copper shimmer with tonal micro-sparkle. It’s a medium copperry-brown with gold shimmer and a frost finish. It has a good color payoff with a texture that felt smooth, buttery and fine during the application. It applied evenly across the lid, with minor fall-out.

Urban Decay Nooner Eyeshadow is officially seen as a medium pinky-brown matte. It’s a medium neutral brown with rosy and warm undertones and a matte finish. I would have desired a more richer pigmentation for this one. It has a decent color payoff but being such a pretty nude it takes me to build up the color. The texture is very soft, smooth and easily blendable. I felt it to be slightly powdery.

Urban Decay Liar Eyeshadow is described as a medium metallic mauve shimmer. It’s a medium rosy-brown with warm undertones and a frosted metallic finish. It has a wonderful soft and smooth texture, that leans towards a very pigmented color. It applies and blends effortlessly without any fall-out during the application.

Urban Decay Factory Eyeshadow is described as a pinky-brown satin. It’s a medium reddish-brown with warm undertones, very fine golden shimmer and a satin finish. It has a good color payoff with a texture that was soft, finely milded and easily blendable.

Urban Decay Mugshot Eyeshadow is officially seen as a metallic taupe shimmer with slight pink shift. It’s a medium-dark taupe with warm undertones and a luminous frosted, metallic finish. It is very well pigmented with an extremely fine, milded and smooth texture.

Urban Decay Darkside Eyeshadow is described as a deep taupe-mauve satin. It’s a mauvy-taupe with cool undertones and a pearl finish. It has a good pigmentation with a soft, fine texture and easily blendable. I somehow felt the texture to be a just a little bit powdery.

Urban Decay Blackheart Eyeshadow is officially seen as a smoky black matte with rosy red micro-sparkle. It’s a very dark, black burgundy with red-brown undertones and very fine pink and red micro-shimmer. It’s well pigmented but it had a lot of fall out during the application.

I’m trying to sell this palette. I love pinks, but these shades aren’t my favorite. Too many shimmers and too many dark colors. My favorite color in the palette is Strange and I really wished UD would sell this as a single. I was able to find a dupe for it, MAC’s Orb, and am patiently waiting for it in the mail. Keeping my fingers crossed because I love this color.

I am so glad that you are finally able to see and test the UD products yourself. It makes such a difference to be able to walk into a real, live store and check it out for yourself. Whilst this colour palette is too rosy pink for me (a redhead), Mugshot and Darkside are gorgeous colours. I am sure you will enjoy this palette.

I had tried and purchased UD products before whenever I went abroad, but having them at your local Sephora counter is definitely something. 🙂
