Today I’m gonna review Essie Pink Parka, a nail polish which is part of Essie Fall Collection. In the next few days I will try to review all the nail polishes from their fall collection.
As you can see, Pink Parka is a bright color and I’m still wearing it even now in the winter season. This hot neon pink color dries very fast, leaving a matte satin finish. For the photos bellow I used 2 coats, but you can usually layer 3 coats if you want because it’s very thin.
I didn’t use any top coat or base coat because I wanted to see how much it lasts on my nails and to check if it’s chip-resistant. As you can see by yourself from the second photo, that was took only 2 days after, Pink Parka didn’t pass the test.
After 2 days
I’m really very disappointed, I would expected to be more durable and although it hurts me to say this because you know how much I love pink, this nail polish will not resist on your nails for long. On those 2 days while I was wearing it I didn’t wash any dishes or did some work around the house, but as you can see it didn’t resist anyway.
I love this color but I’m afraid that I won’t be using this polish very often because I’m to lazy to stay everyday and add a new layer of polish just to keep my nails looking perfect.
I bought the whole collection a few months ago and for a 15ml bottle I payed around 9$. When I saw this shade I had instantly planned to wear it with Illamasqua Avenge Lipstick because they are so matching and vibrant colors.
It’s a pity that a color so beautiful couldn’t live up to its expectations so I have to say that Essie “best dressed nails” will not be in Pink Parka. If you don’t mind applying a new layer of nail polish everyday then I say go for it, but if you are looking for a chip-resistant nail polish then keep looking.
