I will end the review series of Orly Feel the Vibe Mani Minis Summer 2012 Collection (info & nail swatches) with Orly Glowstick nail polish which I received from Orly Romania last week for review purposes. The Mani Minis collection contains only 4 neon shades in mini bottles of 5.3 ml / .18 fl oz for the price of 20.00 Lei unlike the 6 neon shades in full size bottles of 18 ml / 0.6 fl oz retailing for $7.50 / 45.00 Lei from Orly Feel the Vibe Summer 2012 Collection (info, promo photos & nail swatches).
Orly Glowstick Nail Polish is a bright yellow neon with green undertones, something very similar with an yellow marker. The color is very sheer and transparent after the second coat so the second coat of color is definitely a must. After the second coat the color is still pretty transparent and sheer, only a little bit more vibrant. Being a neon shade it will look more opaque in the evening, or whenever the light is not that bright.
The texture is very light and watery, it applies leaving small lines behind (the mini brush could be blamed for this because it’s too small and I had to dip it several times to get enough amount of product) and sheerer spots from place to place so I needed a second coat to get an even color.
It’s not streaky but just makes the application harder especially if you have long nails and you are trying to use this mini brush (with the brush from regular size bottle things might be different).
The colors in mini sized bottles are fun and excellent to take with you in your travels, vacations or simply in your purse on your way out. The entire collection take up just a little space from your luggage and you can have more colors to choose from when you want to change your nail polish. 🙂

Orly Glowstick Nail Polish after 5 days wear
Like all the other neon polishes I reviewed, Glowstick makes no exception in receiving the protection of a top coat. Because neon colors have a mate (or semi-matte finish) I didn’t want to ruin that by applying a shiny top coat. So the results after 5 days wear without the top coat are pretty dramatic. The polish chipped a lot at the ends and even at the base of the nail is started peeling off a little.
This is definitely not a long lasting color (most neon polishes aren’t) so I should have removed it in the 3rd day when it started chipping badly. The advantage consists in its fast drying texture so you can layer this color everyday if you want too because it will dry in seconds so it won’t take up too much of your time. Or you could try applying a top coat if you don’t mind a shiny neon color. 🙂
