Today I’m gonna review another nail polish from Kinetics Summer Kiss Nail Polish Collection for summer 2010 (preview post + swatches).
Pale Petunia is a beautiful pastel light lilac color with a creamy texture. This is one of the 3 nail polishes from this collection that are not so bright and does not contain any glitter or shimmer inside its texture. If you like a simple pale violet color with glossy finish then you should give your nails a taste of Pale Petunia.
Wearing Kinetics Pale Petunia – 2 coats – natural light
It took me 2 coats to get the final result for an uniform application. The polish is opaque and glides on smoothly, without woring about lines or uneven application. Before I’ve applied those 2 coats of Pale Petunia I laid 1 coat of Base Coat so by adding the final top coat I was afraid the 4 layers might too thick for the polish to resist more than 3-4 days.First I took a photo where I’m wearing 2 coats of Pale Petunia and no top coat so you can see how much the polish can shine on its own. The photo was taken inside my room under a natural light so you can see it looks a little bit different, more like a pale pink violet.

Once I’ve applied one layer of top coat the polish became even more glossy but I was really happy with the result I had even without the top coat. This time I went outside to take this photo so you can see its true color. 🙂

I’m sure you can notice the color difference. 🙂 I don’t know what is with the Kinetics Summer Kiss Collection but I love the fact that every nail polishes can look extremely different outdoor, on a sunny day or indoor. This way you can never get bored with your color because it can reflect different shades. 🙂
Kinetics Pale Petunia is available in a 15 ml (0.5 fl oz) bottle for a price between $6.70 – $8.10 in the U.S. and Eur 5.30 – Eur 6.30 in Europe. You can also check out more products on @ Kinetics
I’ve worn this color on my nails only for about 4 days because I had a wedding coming up so I couldn’t keep it anymore, since my dress was black and I had a new fresh manicure.
Kinetics Pale Petunia 4 days later
First let’s take a look at the nails which were protected by the top coat.
Wearing Kinetics Pale Petunia with top coat after 4 days
What do you think? No chipped polish, not even faded tips but the shine is not like in the first day. It surely is a long lasting color and I’m happy that with 4 coats (base coat, 2 color coats, top coat) the polish didn’t chipped at all and my nails look OK after the 4th day.
Here are the other nails were I haven’t applied a top coat. Here’s the naked truth. 🙂
Wearing Pale Petunia without a top coat after 4 days
No chipped polish here either but I’m sure you can notice the color is a little bit matte and because the texture of the polish was so creamy once I’ve got to use my nails even though the polish was dry it tends to form some small lines every time you touch them on your clothes or something else.
To avoid forming those lines a top coat is the only solution unless you like this color as a matte one. 🙂
I really hope this review will be helpful for you. Let me know if you do like this color. 🙂
