As you well known Kinetics has launched their fall winter 2013 collection called Urban Legend and last week I posted a preview with photos and swatches so you can take a closer look at the new shades before they will become available internationally. The first nail polish I testes is Kinetics Gangsterina which I wore it this week and just removed earlier today.

Kinetics Nail Polish in Gangsterina ( €5.95/ 25.00 Lei/ £3.60 for 15 ml/ 0.5 fl oz) is a dark burgundy which sometimes reflects an eggplant color depending on how the light hits. It’s a beautiful autumnal and classy polish with a medium color coverage in one coat and fully opaque and super glossy finish in two coats. I’ve always enjoyed wearing darker nail polishes and Gangsterina is just perfect elegant autumnal shade.
It has a nicely well balanced formula, between thick and thin which applies flawlessly on the nails without streaking, pooling or bubbling. I have to admit this time I forgot to apply a base coat but you shouldn’t since it’s especially recommended when wearing dark nail polish shades.
Even though it has an intense luscious finish after the second coat I decided to apply Kinetics Nano Shark Emergency Treatment (review & swatches) as a top coat on 5 of my nails.
I had 5 days wear with Gangsterina nail polish and the results between the nails wearing top coat and those without are quite different. The color was still opaque and vibrant with that shiny finish but with visible tip wear. Amazingly the nail polish chipped on the fourth day on two of the nails where I’ve applied top coat (I was doing dishes at that time but it’s no excuse for me) while on my other nails I had noticeable tip wear. Usually Kinetics nail polish formula doesn’t chip and I’m wondering if I’m to blame because I haven’t applied a base coat before layering Gangsterina polish. I’m planning to test this polish again with a base coat so I will update this post soon and tell the results.
