Hello beauties!
The review of Kinetics Be Mine nail polish brings me one stop closer to finish my review series of nail polishes from Kinetics Flower Explosion Spring 2012 Collection (info, photos & nail swatches). The entire collection is available at international dedicated Kinetics beauty salons, Kinetics distributors and @kiriloff.ro. In Romania the collection was released at the end of March 2012.
Kinetics Be Mine nail polish (€6.00 / 25.00 Lei for 15 ml / 0.5 fl oz ) is a natural beige champagne, with satin finish and a creamy watery texture (more watery than creamy). When I layered this color I had the feeling of a melting vanilla ice cream because of the color and texture of this polish. The first coat won’t deliver an opaque coverage so a second coat is needed although being a light natural shade is not completely opaque.
The application went without pooling or bubbling and before I laid the first coat I used Kinetics Nano Rhino Base Coat & Treatment (review & nail swatches) finishing with a layer of Kinetics Nano Shark Top Coat & Treatment (review & nail swatches) for a plus of shine. A second coat of nail polish was not enough since the color was uneven and fine lines were left behind after the application. The second coat delivered a more opaque coverage, no fine lines and a satin finish.
The part with the drying time was a problem for me because it took more than 10 minutes to be completely dry. I usually don’t wanna take any chances with polishes with creamy texture because they are taking too long to be completely dry and if I start typing at my PC afterwards, fine lines are starting to show off.
Kinetics Be Mine Nail Polish – one coat
Kinetics Be Mine Nail Polish – two coats
Kinetics Be Mine Nail Polish – top coat
Kinetics Be Mine Nail Polish after 5 days wear
You probably know the drill by now. I use one layer of top coat only for 5 of my nails leaving the other ones with only 2 coats of color just so we can compare the results. As you can see the results of the nails wearing also a top coat are a more mattified color, chipped polish on one of the nails and minor tip on the others. Except that nail with the chipped polish I’m pretty pleased with the results of wearing a top coat.
The strangest thing is if a polish is to chip that it will be on the middle finger of my left hand and on the index finger of my right hand. I don’t know if you noticed that from my past reviews, but just out of curiosity you can go and check it out. 🙂
On the other hand the results are a bit cloudy because the color looks more mattified, those lines that I told you about are even more visible because it’s a polish with cream texture and everytime I type on my laptop it leaves those nasty lines in the color and also you can see the results of not having the patience to wait for about 10 minutes so the polish can be completely dry.
