Hello lovelies!
Essie No More Film is one of the four new nail polishes from Essie Resort Collection for Spring 2012 (my post with info, photos & prices) which was released March 2012 in U.S. and Internationally. In Romania this collection will be available on 15 March 2012 @essie.ro and @fendisssimadistribution.ro.
One bottle of nail polish contains 13,5 ml of product and retails for $8.00 in U.S. and 44.50 Lei in Romania.
Essie No More Film is described as a seductive deep violet creme. It’s opaque from the first coat and it’s applied easily and evenly. You can add a second layer if you like but the finish is just the same. In bright sunny light you can pick up discreet violet effects but otherwise is more like a deep dark blue.
Being a dark color I applied Kinetics Nano Rhino base coat (my review + nail swatches) and I honestly advise you to use your base coat if you decide to wear this color for more than 2 days. Usually after wearing darker colors, my nails tend to become a little yellow if I don’t apply base coat.
Essie No More Film it has quite a creamy texture a little bit thicker so it will dry faster if you’ll keep it to one layer. I still added the second layer and a top coat just to test its longevity on my nails but I admit 4 layers (1 base coat + 2 nail polish layers + 1 top coat) is too much for this color. I did this experiment only at my left hand and I kept my right hand’s nails only with one layer of No More Film and without top coat.
The price in the U.S. for Essie nail polishes is quite small comparing to Romania where one bottle is almost $13.50. Judging by the quality-price rapport this one is definitely a keeper for those in the U.S. but for my Romanian readers the price can slide to the expensive side. If you can afford it is definitely worth it.

Essie No More Film Nail Polish – two coats + base coat + top coat
Essie No More Film Nail Polish after 4 days
Although the 4 layers (base coat + two coats of polish + top coat) were a little to much for my nails, I can say the results makes me proud. No chipped ends, the color is still opaque but obviously not so shiny anymore. Comparing with the second photo where I’ve applied only one layer of color and no top coat the first variant looks so much better.
I guess the perfect combination for this dark color with creamy texture is to apply base coat + only one layer of color and then add the top coat just to give it an extra luscious finish and make it last longer.

Hi Yoli! The collection is already available on Essie website but the color from the promo photo looks a bit different. Don’t you like the color?
I got this as a gift from Glossy Box. At first i didn’t like it cause i thought it was too heavy for spring and summer. But after reading ur review, I think i’d give it a try!;)thx!
