Last week I ordered my first Coastal Scents eyeshadow palette. I’ve been seeing so many Coastal Scents 88 palettes used by makeup artists and normal girls for tutorials on youtube that I had to buy one for myself. I just received my 88 Metal Mania Palette this Monday but the weather it’s been so gray that I couldn’t take such good photos and swatches.
This post will be a short preview of this palette and since I will post a lot of photos today I will do another post with swatches tomorrow. I know this might sound crazy because we are talking about 88 eyeshadows here but maybe there are still girls out there who want to buy this palette and they can’t find photos with swatches. 🙂
The Coastal Scents palettes are available for sale online on their official website www.coastalscents.com but you can enter here to see the page of your local country distributor.
Coastal Scents 88 Metal Mania Palette ($24.95) contains 88 vibrant colors (61 grams/ 2.15 ounces) that become even more gilded in appearance when using an eye primer. A little goes a long way, the impact is extraordinary, the color combination are endless.
Even the name suggest that we are talking about color with metallic finish and reflections. Tomorrow you can stop by to check my post where I will be uploading photos with all the swatches in this palette in two variants – with primer and without primer – so you can compare the results.
If you like nude, natural colors then you should definitely go for this palette. I was also thinking about the 88 Warm Palette but I got this one first since I know the metallic shades are more blendable but I’m planning to buy the other palette very soon.
The colors are included in a matte black case, very sleek and once you open it you will notice the mirror and the two double-ended eyeshadow applicators. I rather use my makeup brushes but if you want you can test the applicators as well. Inside the palette there is also a protective transparent foil.
This palette seems really suitable for those looking for a natural, nude makeup with metallic reflections. It can be also used for a bride makeup, prom night makeup and basically any makeup look that is not meant to be dramatic. It contains mostly brown, gold, beige, copper and pink colors but you can spot also a few greens, purples, violets, peachy or champagne shades.
I would definitely recommend this palette to beginner makeup artists since is not expensive and it has so many color combinations, sleek packaging which makes it easy to take it with you anywhere.
While I was swatching some of the colors I’ve noticed that the ones with brown undertones are more pigmented even when they are applied without an eyeshadow primer and the metallic effects are more vibrant then the ones of those pale colors.
There are so many color combinations to be made from this palette, you need only some inspiration and imagination to achieve unique makeup looks.
Here are the photos that I’ve made today, but as I said the weather was so grumpy that it wasn’t the best time for taking photos.
Here are the promo photos. 🙂
I hope you’ve enjoyed this preview although I’ve posted a lot of photos. Do you own a Coastal Scents 88 Eyeshadow Palette? If you do, please let me know which one and if you are enjoying the colors. 🙂
