Catrice Shine Appeal Fluid Lipstick Review, Swatches, Photos

by Tavia

Hello beauties!

I’m loving glosses anytime, especially during the warm season when the weather is nice, without any wind that will make the gloss stick to your hair. The other week while I was buying products from Essence and Catrice at Prestige Boutique, my local beauty drugstore, I received Catrice Shine Appeal Fluid Lipstick as a gift with purchase. Considering it is a lovely shade for spring, one that will go perfect with a day makeup, I started using the product right away so keep reading more for a full review and lip swatches.

Catrice 040 Pink Macaron Shine Appeal Fluid Lipstick (€3.95 / 19.50 Lei for 5 ml / 0.16 fl oz) is a light nude peachy-pink with warm undertones and glossy finish. It has a good color payoff looking semi-opaque on the lips, while providing a shiny glossy effect.

The formula contains Vitamin E that pampers sensitive lips and offers a smooth, bright finish. It applies effortlessly across the lips, without being sticky or tacky at all. It tends to settle a bit into fine lip lines but the glossy effect smooths out everything pretty nicely and give you that fresh, plumped lips appearance.

It has a scented formula, that smells sweet to me, closely to vanilla, but without any discernible taste.

Catrice 040 Pink Macaron is a shade that goes lightly on the lips and looks very natural and fresh on those with fair and light skin tones. I would say it is a perfect lip color for a casual day, when you don’t want to wear a full face makeup, or just perfect if you want to wear it to school.

The color lasted on my lips for about 3 hours without leaving a stain behind.

The packaging is pretty simple yet very easy to maneuver, as it comes in a transparent case with a black cap which holds a doe-footed applicator.

Catrice describes this product as a beauty hybrid between lipstick and lip gloss, but on this particularly shade I didn’t see the pigmentation and opacity that you would expect from a lipstick. As a lip gloss I can totally agree with them, as it provides a nice luscious finish, but if you are looking for something more pigmented then this shade is not for you.

Still – a lovely shade. (Even if it needs more pigment.)
