Hello sweeties!

The lipstick that I’m going to review today is called Down to Earth and is part of Senna Summer 2013 Sunglow Collection (photos & swatches).

Senna Down to Earth Lipstick ($20.00 for 3.4 g/ 0.12 oz) is described as a warm golden chocolate but I see it more like a medium-dark reddish brown with a creamy texture and subtle sheen. This color is fully opaque on the lips just in a single swipe. Down to Earth is a really pigmented shade, opaque but I find it to be a bit too dark for my light skin tone so I would recommended to those with medium to darker skin tone.

The packaging is elegant and classy hosting this lipstick in a black tube with lace motif bearing Senna’s golden letters.

This is the kind of shade that will look good on a tanned complexion and will emphasize your tan but if you have a light skin tone and you still want to wear Down to Earth you can tame it up a little bit by layering Sunstone Lip Lacquer (review & swatches) on top of it or any other lip gloss that has a sheer coverage and gold, pink or silver shimmer.

It has a creamy consistency and it glides easily, smoothly and gently on the lips without settling into lips lines. It contains Hyaluronic Acid filling spheres, Vitamin E, Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil to hydrate, condition and protect your lips.

After 2 hours of wearing this lipstick my lips were beginning to feel a little dry and the color was noticeable settled into lip lines which made my lips look more dry than they actually were. Down to Earth has a creamy formula at the beginning when you apply it but I advise you to exfoliate and moisturize your lips with a good lip balm or lip treatment prior the application of this lipstick. Once I’ve put a lip gloss over Down to Earth the aspect of dry lips was replaced by a glossy, luscious layer.

You won’t have to worry about retouching your makeup as this lipstick lasted about 5 to 6 hours on my lips (without having a meal) and I decided it to remove it only because I felt my lips a bit dry.
