Kinetics Yes! Nail Polish from Summer Kiss 2010 Summer Collection – Review, Photos, Nail Swatches

Today I just removed Kinetics Yes! nail polish from my nails so I wanted to post this review right away. Also part of the Kinetics Summer Kiss 2010 collection (preview post, photos + swatches) Yes! is a beautiful vibrant violet color.

I absolutely love purple and violets nail polishes so this nail polish could not pass unnoticed. It’s a beautiful bright violet, with tiny silver particles hidden inside the creamy texture.

I laid 2 coats of Yes! nail polish and this is what I’ve got.

Yes! nail polish – without top coat – natural light

The color is not that opaque as I thought it will be so you might add a 3rd coat just to make sure you have full coverage. It has that creamy shine but if you want the “wet nails” effect you must apply a top coat.

As you can see from this close-up photo, 2 coats are not enough to get that full opacity but I prefered a more light violet so I didn’t go for the 3rd coat. It has kind of a semi-matte effect if you decided to wear it alone (without top coat).

The application went smoothly, the brush picks up enough product to cover the nail from the first time and doesn’t leave any lines behind. The texture is really great, light and creamy so everything went smoothly.

For the final touch I just added top coat on my left hand nails so you can see the difference.

The top coat really makes a difference. The color is more shiny and the “wet nails” effect is really noticeable.

I just kept this polish on my nails for only 5 days and today I just removed it, because I have the entire Summer Kiss collection to review and I think I’ve made my point in the first 2 nail polishes reviews (Divine &  Butterfly Wing Velvet) from this collection by showing you how chip resistant are these colors ( 7 days).

Look at those ends!

The color is still there, bright and shiny although now I regret not applying the third coat.   The polish chipped on two of my nails but beside that you can only notice the color fading towards the ends, I would say it’s only normal.

Now let me show you how the nails where I didn’t apply top coat, look like.

Well what do you have to say? Is something about these Kinetics nail polishes that makes them chip resistant even without a top coat. In some cases such as this, the polish seems to look better without a top coat. Indeed you can notice those slightly faded ends but you don’t see any chipped nail polish.

It’s only up to you if you wanna have super shiny nails or just the creamy semi-matte nails.
