To help you get ready for Summer, Max Factor Make Up Artist Caroline Barnes gives her tips on refreshing your make-up collection with subtle colour changes for summer to give you the best waterproof, beautiful summer look.

Caroline’s Top Summer Make-Up Tips:

  1. When you’re going away on your summer holiday, a good mascara is a must have. Max Factor Aqua Lash is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers; it is a classic, waterproof mascara that is smudge proof. The special brush design helps prevent it clogging on the brush and your lashes.
  2. Use an eyebrow pencil to define brows as this will help repel the water and last longer. If you have very fine brows, stroke a small amount of brown waterproof Aqua Lash Mascara through your brows, it will hold the shape and the effect is amazing.”
  3. Max Factor Creamy blush gives a delicate, sun-kissed flush of colour to your cheeks “Using  your ring finger, apply Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush in Soft Pink, retail price  £6.99 to the apples of your cheeks, smile and sweep it across your cheeks towards your ears to give your face a delicate, dewy look.
  4. Gorgeous tanned skin allows you to be more daring with lip shades that you wouldn’t usually wear. Caroline suggests, “As a rule, tanned skin tends to be able to pull of darker, more intense shades’ Max Factor’s new Max Effect Gloss, RRP £4.99 has a non sticky formula, is available in 12 beautiful shades and gives dazzling shine.

    • Hi Norma! I think you may find this mascara at Max Factor counters in beauty shops from your city. I don’t know if it’s available yet in your country, though.

  • Where can I buy Max Factor Aqua Lash black/brown mascara preferably in the UK as it seem to have gone off the usual store shelves? It is THE BEST for not smudging while swimming etc and I have used it for years and years.

    • Aqua Lash mascara was Limited Edition and I spoke with Max Factor PR’s department and they said it will be available next summer.

  • I bought this in kmart in Australia. It was packaged with a warning about irritant if it got into your eye. I ignored this as I thought it was just dome standard labelling here. First time I used after a few hours my eyes felt a little iritated…not much. Second time, same thing…thoight to myself must buy more. I only wear make-up at weekends. Anyhow, no other mascara on Saturday night, so used it again. This time a tiny spec of mascara fell into my eye. I spent 40 minutes in aginy feeling like my eye was being sliced open until I finally had it removed in A&E. Eye swollen and severely bloodshot. Waiting for eye specialist to see if permanent damage. Eye still irritated 3 daus later!
