Essie Red Nouveau Nail Polish from “The Art of Spring” 2010 Collection – Review + Swatches

My last review on Essie “The Art of Spring” 2010 Collection will be about Red Nouveau nail polish.

The new must-have red is a fiery hot crimson that makes a true fashion statement. The color is available in a 15 ml bottle for a $8.00 price.

Red is not my favorite color and actually I almost never use this color, not on my lips and not even on my nails. I prefer shades of pink because my skin is very pale.

This is a red classic color and if you like it I say go for it. The texture has the perfect combination, not too liquid and not to pasty so the application was an easy thing to do. I have applied 2 coats of Red Nouveau nail polish and you can see the result in the photo bellow.

Red Nouveau – 2 coats of nail polish + top coat

Well, yes this time I decided to apply top coat only on the nails from my left hand and compare the results after 5 days. Do you like the color so far? Here I took another photo just to see better this fiery red.

I haven’t noticed any difference between the nails that were wearing top coat and the other ones because the polish is so shiny in the beginning. Please excuse my short nails because I know this color will look much better on more longer nails.

Let’s see how this color is looking after 5 days.

First you will see the photo with the nails that were wearing top coat during those 5 days. Do you like the result?

Red Nouveau – after 5 days – 2 layers of nail polish + 1 layer of top coat

The color still shines and the ends are a little bit chipped. I like the result considering that so many days passed and it’s only normal that nails should look like this.

Now let’s see the other photo were I didn’t applied any top coat after the 2 coats of Red Nouveau nail polish.

Red Nouveau – after 5 days – no top coat

Can you see the difference? I can say there is almost no difference between the two photos. Even without top coat this nail polish lasted on my nails for so many days looking beautiful. The color is still vibrant but not so shiny like in the previous photo. The polish is chipped on the ends but this is normal.

My conclusion is that Red Nouveau is really worth the money and even though I’m not crazy about red colors this could be keeper if you are into red.
