Lancome’s Mascaras have the  best mascara formula I’ve ever used. Along the years I’ve tried lots of Mascaras Brands, from Max Factor and L’Oreal to Maybelline and Rimmel.  Some of them were great at first, like Max Factor Masterpiece ( It was love at first sight with this baby ),  but after a while – and I’m not talking months – the effect was not the same and it really ended very fast. Some of my friends were using it too and we all realized that after 3 weeks we need a new one. I like the texture of a new mascara, and I know  is natural that after a few weeks of using will not have the same effect like in the beginning, but with Masterpiece all was happening very fast. Every 3 weeks I had to buy a new one, so I start searching for a new brand of mascara in the same price range.

Soon after this I took a trip by plane and I had the chance to scoop into the tax free shops. Here I found LancomeHypnose and Definicils wrapped together at a very good price. I knew Hypnose  was launched in 2004 and quickly became the best world selling mascara, so tempted by the 2 in 1 price offer and reviews I’ve decided to give it a try. This week was full of posts about new upcoming collections. I’ve read all sorts of interesting posts and I liked many of them. So, these are my favorites of the week:

Mineral Makeup Delivery gave me new ideas about a good mineral powder. I can’t wait for September to come so I can try Clinique’s Superbalanced Powder Makeup SPF 15 Mineral Rich Formula ( 42$ ) with its new anti-bacterial brush. I have been using lots of Clinique’s products, from creams and lotions to makeup products, and I’m very pleased with the brand.

New! Fall 2009: Shu uemura Primitribe Collection will give you an idea about Primitribe makeup and hopefully convince you to try it.  Painting Liner in  turquoise  is just super sweet and a great color for summer. The best part is that it’s waterproof.

New Permanent Collections for Lips and Eyes by Estee Lauder will give you an info about all these goodies. You don’t even have to go to the beauty shop because now you can finally buy them online.

How to grow hair long – this one is a great article about all girls out there crazy about having long hair. I’m one of you and although I know long hair needs time,  patience and good hair products, a few advices can be really helpful sometimes.

A Great Tinted Moisturize, MAC’s Studio Moisture Tint SPF 15 – if you are looking for a good foundation, here’s an idea to try.

I Spy Dolce & Gabbana Nail Lacquer in Midnight – here’s a mystic color from Dolce & Gabbana. If you love purples in any shade you can try this one. It’s a shimmery purple with the right thickness as Karen says but kind of expensive treat ( 20$ ).

Yes, I know the sun is irresistible; hardly you can stay away from the beach or swimming pool. But, like in every relationship, you need…protection. Against sun, of course!

I know it sounds a little strange, but is true: some skin care key products can do wonders in reparation of  hair problems. Maybe you’ll think I have gone crazy but I’ve tested them  on me first.

“Hot” look for hot summer days

nivea visage expert lift Hot look for hot summer daysI’m just crazy about summer, but when my skin and hair becomes dry because of sun or reacts to atmosphere humidity I’m willing to revise my feelings.  Of course if we learn to counterattack the effects of heat and humidity, we can look incredible.

Here is my strategy!

If you live in hot climate (but in the areas with high altitude) dry air will dehydrate your skin, making it sometimes feel itchy, and the aspect is one of “elephant skin”. The superior layer of skin can be so dry that will exfoliate, exposing the skin even more to the rays of sun. What is even worst is on dehydrated skin those fine lines that you already have can be accentuated, and chronicle dehydration can rush the skin ageing process.

In this hot summer day I just remembered about Christmas. I could trade almost anything now for a couple of hours in the Christmas Day. I have to admit that in the last few days temperatures reached +40 degrees Celsius and as much as I love sun, tanned skin, summer clothes and spirit of seaside vacations,  I’m not a fan of these high temperatures. But this is not the only reason why I want to turn back time.  The main reason is the gift received on Christmas Day (La Prairie – anti-aging eye cream a cellular intervention complex SPF 15) which I just finished few days ago.

I received many great gifts among the years but this one is by far the most appreciated and useful one.  It came like a rescue for my eye’s skin area, because I was searching to replace my Clinique all about eyes soin total regard et contour which I was using for almost a year.  I was dreaming about La Prairie since autumn, after hearing and reading all the great results that other women experienced, but I never think of it as a Christmas present to me. I have to admit that its price is kind of expensive, around 100 Eur on EBay and even more in beauty shops, but trust me its completely justified.
